The draft documents are then produced in about 10 pages per minute. We also determined that basic quality color was produced at 8ppm.

We have used Canon printers around our office for close to 20 years, so we are used to great quality prints.

The Canon MX860 is also a champion of print quality! The sharp black text is precise and clear and has no distortion. Someone in my office noticed that the characters actually print out bolder than they really are. Consequently, even very small text is more readable and doesn't strain your eyes. We LOVE this feature of the MX860.

This unit creates gorgeous, vibrant colors. Also, the text is very readable when printed on a background with different color shades. The blues really stand and have a deep richness about them. – This is big issue for me, as I frequently use shades of blue.

Photos are quite realistic and maintain their original colors. They are amazingly alive, but text is still very readable when placed on darker backgrounds. As I mentioned, blues look good, as do all the other colors.

Photos are remarkably neutral and quite precise. Although I have heard that the Pixma MX860 shouldn't be used mainly for photo printing, the inkjet multifunction printer does quite well, thank you, even satisfying any printer "snobs" lingering around your office.

The MX860features presets that I often use to scan directly from the unit to PC, USB memory stick or memory card. At an unbelievably low pricepoint, (I got mine through Amazon.com), the Canon PIXMA MX860 All In One printer has features of units many times it's price. So, If quality is a higher priority than the printing speed, the MX860 will blow away any current competition in it's class!
